Last Friday was my second visit to Eastbourne in a week. This time it was to present 'Seeing' to Eastbourne Photographic Society which went down well. It was a particularly important engagement in that it highlighted to a couple of tweeks I need to make in readiness for the biggie this Thursday.
Despite this being the fourth talk to the club, Smethwick is still a bit scary which makes me prepare doubly hard to get it absolutely right on the night. There's no mid-evening tea break, so keeping the voice in one piece is a bit of a challenge. Despite it being one of the biggest clubs in the UK with many top internationally acclaimed members, it is a very friendly place to visit. The lack of a mid-session break is compensated by a social gathering in their own bar at the end of the evening.
I digress. As previously, I made a day of it on the way to Eastbourne and visited the Bluebell Railway, Seaford Head and Beach Head. I think I managed a couple of half decent snaps despite it being extremely hard to avoid the clichés of the area which abound. Hopefully, I'll get to work on them before my Smethwick trip.
